Privacy policy

How we look after the personal information you share with us.

( Last updated October 2026 )

Your privacy

This policy explains what personal information Lindani Farm collects, why, who we share it with and the rights you have under the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).

01 Who we are

Lindani Farm is the responsible party for the personal information described here.

02 What we collect

  • When you send us a message on this website, by WhatsApp, email or phone: your name, your phone number or email address, and what you write to us.
  • When you book: your booking is made on NightsBridge, which collects the details needed for the booking (such as names, contact details, dates and number of guests) and passes them to us.
  • When you pay: proof of payment, which shows the paying account's details.
  • For your stay: details you give us to arrange it, such as your arrival time and who is staying.

This website has no user accounts, and we don't use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies.

03 Why we use it

  • To answer your questions and messages.
  • To take, manage and confirm bookings, invoices and payments, and to send your check-in details.
  • To keep the records the law requires, such as financial and tax records.
  • To keep guests and the farm safe and secure.

We process personal information only where POPIA allows it: to carry out your booking, to meet a legal obligation, for our or your legitimate interests, or with your consent.

04 Marketing

We don't send marketing messages unless you have asked for them or are a past guest who hasn't opted out. Every marketing message tells you how to unsubscribe, and you can opt out at any time by telling us.

05 Who we share it with

We don't sell your personal information. We share it only as needed with:

  • NightsBridge, our booking system.
  • Netlify, which hosts this website, and Google Fonts, which supplies some of its fonts (your browser's IP address is sent to Google to load them).
  • WhatsApp (Meta) and our email provider (Google), when you message us through them.
  • Our bank, accountant and professional advisers.
  • Government authorities, when the law requires it.

06 Information sent outside South Africa

Some of these providers store information on servers outside South Africa. We use well-known providers that are bound by laws, binding rules or agreements giving protection similar to POPIA, as section 72 of POPIA requires.

07 How long we keep it

We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes above. Booking, invoice and payment records are kept for at least five years, as tax law requires. Messages that don't lead to a booking are deleted once they are no longer needed.

08 How we protect it

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to keep personal information safe, including secure (HTTPS) connections on this website and access limited to the people who need it. If we believe your information has been compromised, we will tell you and the Information Regulator as POPIA requires.

09 Cookies and browser storage

This website doesn't set tracking or advertising cookies. It uses your browser's own storage only to remember your language choice and to keep the booking concierge chat open as you move between pages. Nothing stored there is sent to us. You can clear it at any time in your browser settings.

Links to NightsBridge, WhatsApp, Instagram and Google Maps take you to their sites, which have their own privacy policies.

10 Your rights

Under POPIA you may ask us whether we hold your personal information and for a copy of it; ask us to correct or delete it; object to us using it; and withdraw your consent where we rely on it. Contact our information officer on stay@lindanifarm.co.za or +27 (0)83 291 6790. We may need to confirm your identity first.

If you are not happy with how we handle your information, please tell us first. You may also lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (South Africa): inforegulator.org.za.

11 Children

This website isn't meant for children. Bookings for children must be made by a parent or guardian, who gives us the children's details needed for the stay.

12 Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
