PAIA manual

This manual is published under section 51 of the Promotion of Access to Information Act 2 of 2000 (PAIA). It explains how to ask Lindani Farm for access to records and how we process personal information (POPIA).

01 Our contact details

Requests for access to records go to the head of the business, who is also our information officer:

02 The Information Regulator’s guide

The Information Regulator publishes a guide on how to use PAIA and POPIA, in each official language. It is available from the Regulator at inforegulator.org.za, and a copy can be inspected at our premises by appointment.

04 Records we hold

  • Guests: enquiries, bookings, invoices, payments and correspondence.
  • Finance and tax: accounting records, bank statements, invoices and tax records.
  • Suppliers and service providers: agreements, invoices and correspondence.
  • Staff (where applicable): employment contracts, payroll and leave records.
  • Property and operations: records about the farm, the units and their maintenance, and insurance.

05 Records kept under law

Where they apply to us, we keep records under laws including the Tax Administration Act 28 of 2011, the Income Tax Act 58 of 1962, the Value-Added Tax Act 89 of 1991, the Basic Conditions of Employment Act 75 of 1997, the Unemployment Insurance Act 63 of 2001, the Companies Act 71 of 2008, the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008, the ECT Act 25 of 2002 and POPIA.

06 How to request a record

  1. Complete Form 2 (request for access to a record), available from the Information Regulator's website.
  2. Send it to our information officer at stay@lindanifarm.co.za, with a copy of your identity document.
  3. Say which record you want, the form of access you want, and which of your rights the record is needed to exercise or protect.
  4. Pay the request fee and any access fee prescribed in the PAIA regulations. We will tell you if a fee applies before we process the request.

We will respond within 30 days, as PAIA requires. Access may be refused only on the grounds set out in PAIA. If you are unhappy with our decision, you may complain to the Information Regulator or apply to court.

07 How we process personal information

Our privacy policy sets out, as section 51 of PAIA requires: why we process personal information; the categories of people and information involved (guests and enquirers, suppliers and, where applicable, staff); who we share it with; the information sent outside South Africa; and the security measures we use.

08 Availability of this manual
